I'm honored that my research on yerba mate is featured in an ASU Now (Arizona State University) article, "South American drink ritual a window into culture." The article even has short 2 videos where I show viewers how to prepare both mate and tereré.
Brisk Mate marketed to youth is an iced tea that maintains a vague link to mate (note the gourd and bombilla on the can). It can be purchased at Circle K in Phoenix. One of my students brought a can of it to class for me. It is sweet and with a vague but noticeable flavor of yerba mate.
