We were exhausted after the bike ride back to town. We went to a restaurant for lunch, but unfortunately had to wait a long time for food. We were cranky and hungry and not in a mood for the typical leisurely lunch. After eating, we went back to the hostel to relax.
As at most places in Colonia, we could pay in Uruguayan pesos, Argentine pesos, Brazilian reales, or U.S. dollars. We are saving our dollars and Argentine pesos, so I paid in Uruguayan pesos (gotten from an ATM) or a credit card. I haven’t used either my ATM card or my credit card (other than for purchases in the United States) since being in South America.
The next day we returned to Buenos Aires. The boat ride was uneventful. We didn’t see anyone who was seasick.
The boys highly recommend Colonia del Sacramento and want to return.
